About the Inspired Shakespeare Experience/ Terms and Conditions

Who can take part?
The Inspired Shakespeare Experience is designed for all levels of ability and experience. You will need to be able to read well, but don’t worry if you have to look up some of Shakespeare’s words and meanings, everyone does! The Minack and the rehearsal process can be quite a physically demanding environment and so a reasonable level of agility and energy is essential. (we regret that The Minack Theatre is unable to provide access to the Stage area for wheelchair users). You need to be 18 and over to take part. (16/17 year olds by prior arrangement)

Will I need to prepare?
To get the most out of the experience it is best if you memorise a speech of your choice. Knowing your lines ahead of the workshop will give you much greater freedom and confidence. Your speech can be up to 3 minutes long, and preferably no shorter than 1 minute. You can choose your own, or if you get stuck I can make some suggestions. You can perform a monologue or duologue if booking as a pair.

What about the weather?
If it rains, we get wet! If it’s windy we’ll give you something to hold on to! This is an adventure that goes ahead in all but the most extreme of weather conditions, but should the weather raise a safety issue we will provide an alternative venue. We may even rehearse at some point on a beach or in a field so you must come prepared – swimsuits to sou-westers!
