I have worked for 23 years as a theatre professional on and off stage, 12 of which as Artistic/Theatre Director and Acting Coach. During this time I have been able to acquire and use a wide range of skills that encompass all aspects of creating and making performance. I have directed over 40 professional touring productions, trained dozens of young actors and singers, written several issue based plays and have led literally thousands of workshops. I have performed in everything from an 8 seater fringe venue to Wembley Arena and enjoyed all of it.
Having handed over the reigns of the increasingly busy and successful Westcountry Theatre Company, I am now in the enviable position of using my creative skills on a project by project, or client by client basis; teaching, training, directing, performing and writing. I have always been inspired by and thrived on the diversity of my work, the difference now is I have more time, a wealth of experience and a renewed appetite to learn, share and create. This in turn is allowing me to apply a new sense of quality and reflection to everything I do, so now I’m just going with the flow and saying yes to the projects, people and challenges that appeal to me at the time.
My photography is a relatively new creative interest which not only gives me access to lots of amazing artists and events but, allows me to ‘people watch’ in an arena that fascinates me. If the pictures are any good it’s a bonus! My ‘slickerphotos’ gallery contains private log in albums for local music, arts and surf events.
